On parle souvent des films qui sortent au cinéma, moins souvent de ceux qui passent à la télé pour la quinzième fois. Hélas !Rien de tel que savourer le spectacle d'Armageddon, un soir, après une harassante journée au travail.
Ce film est pour moi le meilleur de la série des Jerry Bruckheimer et consorts, avec la Dream Team : Michael Bay aux manettes, Bruce Willis sauvant le monde, Hans Zimmer à la BO, sans oublier JJ Abrams au scénario, bien avant sa série Lost... C'est LE film du genre Blockbuster de l'été.
Les autres productions de jerry Bruckheimer furent too much, trop d'action, trop de clichés...des suites et des suites aux suites...à moins que je ne fus à cause de l'age, je n'avais plus 16 ans pour apprécier le spectacle.
Armageddon, c'est une histoire universelle : une bande de crognards va sauver le monde en busculant « l' établishement », mais en consacrant au final les valeurs sociales traditionnelles (famille, sacrifice, patrie...)
Le film enchaîne les clichés - scientifiques de la NASA binoclards en chemise blanche avec un dossier dans les bras, militaires impassibles marchant au pas et au béret, familles américaines rurales en salopette bleue devant une affiche de Kennedy, Indiens priants devant le Taj Mahal, Français autour d'une bonne baguette devant le mont Saint Michel, cosmonaute russe frivole oublié dans une station spaciale, hommes d'affaires japonais rigolant pour rien – et force les situations dramatiques de tous les genres cinématographiques : deux comptes à rebours, du suspens, un retournement final, humour décalé, des scènes d'actions toutes les 3 minutes...

Tête de gondole des collection de DVD les plus communes du monde avec Matrix, Fight Club, le 13eme guerrier et bien sûr Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (histoire de faire style que vous avez du goût pour les films d'auteurs, la présence d'Amelie Poulain dans les DVDthèques commune a parfois vu sa place détronnée par Elephant de Gus Van Sant, faut dire que y'a le logo de la palme d'or dessus, donc il est facile a repérer dans les rayons du Auchan...).
